This Privacy Policy explains how PayLexer collects, uses, and protects information about you when you use our platform at paylexer.com. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and transparently.
1. What PayLexer Does and Does Not Do
PayLexer is a payment gateway management tool. It is important to be clear about the boundaries of our data handling:
- We do NOT store, process, or have access to your customers’ payment card numbers, bank account details, or other sensitive payment information.
- All payment transactions are handled directly between your customers and the payment gateway provider you have connected (e.g. Stripe, Airwallex, Paystack). Those providers are responsible for the security of transaction data under their own PCI-DSS compliance obligations.
- Our role is limited to managing the configuration and connection between your websites and those gateway providers.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account registration data: your name, email address, and password when you create a PayLexer account
- Payment gateway credentials: API keys or tokens you enter to connect your gateway accounts (stored encrypted)
- Website information: the URLs or identifiers of the WordPress sites you connect to PayLexer
- Transaction and customer records: when payments are processed through your connected gateway, PayLexer stores transaction records including customer names, email addresses, payment amounts, and purchase details. This information is retained solely to provide you with accurate payment records and order history within your PayLexer dashboard. We do not use this data for any other purpose.
- Support communications: any information you include when contacting our support team
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Log data: IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, timestamps, and error logs when you use the PayLexer platform
- Usage data: which features you use, how often, and in what order – used to improve the product
- Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies required for platform functionality, and analytics cookies where you have consented
2.3 Information We Do Not Collect
- Customer payment card numbers or bank details
- Biometric or sensitive personal data
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the PayLexer platform
- Authenticate your account and keep it secure
- Connect your websites to your chosen payment gateways
- Respond to your support requests and communicate with you about your account
- Send service updates, security notices, and – where you have opted in – product announcements
- Analyse usage patterns to improve platform performance and develop new features
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for advertising purposes.
4. How We Share Your Information
We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
Payment gateway providers: We pass the configuration and credentials you enter to the payment gateway providers you choose in order to establish the technical connection. Review each provider’s privacy policy for details on how they handle this.
Service providers: We work with third-party vendors who help us deliver PayLexer – including cloud hosting, email delivery, and analytics services. These vendors are contractually bound to use your data only to provide services to us and to protect it appropriately.
Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of PayLexer, our users, or the public.
Business transfers: If PayLexer or Codewing Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a notice on the platform before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. These include:
- Encryption of data in transit using TLS
- Encryption of stored API keys and gateway credentials
- Access controls limiting who within our team can access account data
- Regular security reviews of our infrastructure

6. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.
Log and usage data may be retained for up to 12 months for security and diagnostic purposes.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: request that we delete your personal data, subject to legal retention obligations

PayLexer uses the following types of cookies:

- Analytics cookies: used to understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. These are only set where you have given consent.
You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling analytics cookies does not affect your access to PayLexer.
9. Children’s Privacy
PayLexer is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. 10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and/or a prominent notice on the platform before the changes take effect. The updated policy will show its effective date at the top of this page.
Continued use of PayLexer after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
11. International Data Transfers
PayLexer is operated by Codewing Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Your data may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where our infrastructure providers operate. By using PayLexer, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
Where we transfer data outside the EEA or United Kingdom, we take appropriate steps to ensure your data remains protected in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including relying on standard contractual clauses or other approved transfer mechanisms where required.
